The Most Dangerous Government Act In Modern American History

Just a few days ago a little-noticed item in American government policy was announced by the so-called ‘Department of Justice.’ It was the announcement of the creation of a new unit of the DOJ focused on “domestic terrorism,” and it was the most dangerous government act in modern American history.

This action was announced to Congress via video on Tuesday, January 11th,

…at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, Assistant Attorney General for National Security Matthew Olsen revealed the change during his opening statement before the Committee.

There are three basic reasons why this is fraught with peril that could spell the end of individual liberty in America and beyond. First of all, it turns the entire government apparatus developed over the last 20 years for the purpose of detecting and crushing foreign terrorists both inside and outside of the United States against its own people.

This will involve the DOJ and the DHS and more federal agencies using tactics previously applied against Muslim terror groups against American citizens

Soon after the attacks of 9/11, a new government entity called the “Office of Homeland Security” was created and announced to the world by then-President George W. Bush. At the time, the purpose of this “Office” was relatively simple and straightforward.

According to the President, the mission was to,

“develop and coordinate the implementation of a comprehensive national strategy to secure the United States from terrorist threats or attacks”

Of course, as even small expansions of government inevitably do, both the mission and the office itself became much larger, encompassing and encroaching upon more and more of the lives of individual citizens.

Congress officially voted to make the office a cabinet-level department in November of 2002. The Department of Homeland Security eventually absorbed no fewer than 22 agencies into its fold. Entities absorbed by DHS included the Secret Service, Customs and Border Protection and even Coast Guard.

The new DOJ unit’s mission of focusing on “domestic terrorism” will necessitate coordinating with DHS and making use of the resources already commanded by one of the largest government agencies in existence. This provides a specialized agency within the DOJ with enormous power that can easily be abused and turned against the constitutionally-protected liberties of individual citizens.

The DOJ already possesses an extraordinary amount of power and its own enforcement agency with the FBI. The fact that we have witnessed very recent abuses of FBI power in the plot to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer should give us all pause to consider how much more opportunity there will be when this is combined with the might of the DHS.

The targets of this DOJ unit will be those who object to government tyranny

Secondly, those to be targeted by the DOJ are specifically those people affiliated with so-called ‘white supremacist’ and ‘white nationalist’ groups inside America as designated by the DOJ itself. In reality, these labels are political cover for the intentional targeting of those individuals and groups who object to government tyranny, beginning with the COVID tyranny and continuing to parents who object to the public schools subjecting their children to both experimental injections and teaching them heinous doctrines of racist CRT (Critical Race Theory). or transgender ideology, or mask-shaming to name a few.

The evidence that this will be the case is mounting. Those agents involved in instigating the kidnapping plot against Gov. Whitmer were targeting political enemies and seeking to tilt the election away from President Trump at that time.

As Ms. Kelly notes in the video, there were plainclothes agents and informants of the FBI in D.C. on January 6th and, based on their past behavior, there is no reason to believe they weren’t involved in encouraging and escalating riotous behavior. This was obviously an attempt to smear the political opposition.

Moreover, the DOJ has recently turned its sights upon parents who have shown up in large numbers at local school board meetings to voice their objections to the teaching of CRT, the promotion of transgenderism to their children, and the mask or jab mandates required by many public schools.

The memorandum issued by the U.S. Justice Department was in response to a letter written by the National School Boards Association (NSBA) addressed to President Biden, in which they asked “for federal law enforcement and other assistance to deal with the growing number of threats of violence and acts of intimidation occurring across the nation.” The group claims that school board members are facing an increased amount of violent threats that amount to “a form of domestic terrorism and hate crimes,” Reuters reported. The U.S. Justice Department swiftly took action by establishing a task force to “facilitate discussion of strategies for addressing threats against school administrators, board members, teachers, and staff.” Moreover, the Justice Department has opened lines of communication specifically for “threat reporting, assessment, and response.”

However, as revealed on the January 13, 2022 episode of Tucker Carlson Tonight, the reality of this situation is even more ominous. You see, the reason the school boards wrote a letter to Biden asking the DOJ to look into the threat of “domestic terror” allegedly occurring against them was this.

The National School Boards Association asked the feds to investigate parents because the feds asked them to ask the feds to investigate parents!

Carlson cited newly released facts that came as a result of a Freedom of Information Act request to confirm this. These show that the Secretary of Education, Miguel Cardona,

…told school board administrators to write their letter to the White House.

You just can’t make this stuff up. Just as in the Whitmer ‘kidnapping’ plot and the events of January 6th at the U.S. Capitol, we see the Federal government instigating instances that can be then labeled as ‘domestic terrorism’ to suit their political ends.

This DOJ creation can too easily devolve into an American Gestapo

A specialized unit within Hitler’s SS was commonly known as the “Gestapo.” This was a contraction of two German words that meant “Secret State Police.”

Few units in history have attained the much-deserved reputation for evil as has the Gestapo. They were endowed with absolute authority from the ‘government’ under Hitler to accuse, try, convict, and carry out sentencing against large segments of the population for anything deemed contrary to the will of the state as personally embodied by Adolf Hitler.

They especially targeted the Jewish population as well as anyone who was suspected of aiding the Jewish people in any way. The Gestapo became a name that struck terror in the hearts of everyone in Germany and throughout Europe at that time.

Yet, they began as a very small unit of limited means and scope. As William L. Shirer writes in his classic, The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich,

At first, the S.S. was little more than a bodyguard for the Fuehrer.

The swift development of the Gestapo from a small unit to a continent-bridging secret police that enforced the megalomania of Hitler should give us all pause to consider just how large and corrupt and already gigantic federal agency tasked with rooting out its political opponents could easily become purveyors of horrible evil and atrocities in our own land. We could be looking at the beginnings of the emergence of an American Gestapo.

This is not an inevitable destination for America, but it is coming if it isn’t opposed and stopped it in its tracks now. We should understand that the creation of the DOJ’s “domestic terrorism” unit was announced with the intention of going after “anti-government and anti-authority ideologies.”

That sounds a whole lot like the intention of the Gestapo to target those against the Nazi government and the authority of Hitler. How can this be opposed and perhaps halted?

The first is through local and state politicians by supporting them if they stand for liberty and informing them that if they do not, we will replace them at the ballot box. All politics must now become localized within the various states.

Secondly, it is to make certain those elected officials who represent us in Washington D.C. understand that if they go along with this tyranny, their own jobs will be forfeit. Third, and most important of all, is to turn to the LORD and petition Him for the strength, wisdom, and grace to seek liberty of our souls and the liberty of our land.
